ASWB Clinical Exam Prep: 2,000 Practice Questions for the Clinical Social Work Licensing Exam

Enrollment open: 2,000 original practice questions built on the Association of Social Work Boards’ current Clinical content outline (2026 Examination Guidebook). Enroll today and start with free sample questions.

Verified questions

Every question in this program is original — written for PassProfessor from the official exam blueprint, never copied from a test bank or another provider’s materials. Before enrollment opened, each answer key was independently verified: reviewers re-answered sampled questions blind, disagreements were settled against the primary sources, and every numeric answer was recomputed from first principles. Questions whose facts could not be confirmed were removed, and the bank passed a text-overlap screen. Practice exams draw a fresh, blueprint-weighted set from the full bank on every attempt, so no two practice exams are the same.

The ASWB Clinical examination is the licensing examination for clinical social work practice, developed by the Association of Social Work Boards and used by social work boards across the United States and Canada. PassProfessor’s ASWB Clinical program prepares you with 2,000 original practice questions built on ASWB’s current blueprint — three content areas and ten competencies — at clinical depth, including the DSM-5-TR differential-diagnosis work the Clinical outline adds.

What the program covers

Every competency on ASWB’s Clinical outline is covered, rolling up to the published content-area weights (Values and Ethics 36%, Assessment and Planning 32%, Intervention and Practice 32%). The bank’s competency counts, and what a full practice exam draws from each:

  • IA Ethical principles and responsibilities — 220 practice questions; 12 per full practice exam
  • IB Ethical service delivery — 280 practice questions; 15 per full practice exam
  • IC Diversity and social justice — 220 practice questions; 12 per full practice exam
  • IIA Assessment concepts — 220 practice questions; 12 per full practice exam
  • IIB Assessment methods and techniques — 260 practice questions; 14 per full practice exam
  • IIC Assessment practices — 160 practice questions; 9 per full practice exam
  • IIIA Practice concepts — 100 practice questions; 5 per full practice exam
  • IIIB Intervention methods and techniques — 300 practice questions; 17 per full practice exam
  • IIIC Practice evaluation and research — 120 practice questions; 7 per full practice exam
  • IIID Supervision and administration — 120 practice questions; 7 per full practice exam

Practice in the real exam’s shape

A full practice exam draws 110 scored questions — the scored length of the real exam — across all ten competencies at the published content-area weights, inside a 240-minute limit that mirrors the real four-hour clock. Practice exams are scored against a 70% practice benchmark: the real exam is reported pass/fail against ASWB’s own passing standard, which has no published percentage equivalent, so treat the benchmark as a practice target, not the ASWB standard.

How the program works

Enrollment gives you the full bank of 2,000 questions. Full practice exams draw a fresh set every attempt, weighted to the official outline, and never repeat the same exam twice. Short 10-question drills let you work one section at a time. A fixed set of 12 free sample questions is available before you enroll, so you can see the question style first.

The real exam at a glance

  • Questions on the real exam: 122 multiple-choice (110 scored + 12 pretest)
  • Structure: two sections of 61 questions
  • Time limit: 4 hours
  • Score reporting: pass/fail against ASWB’s single passing standard, recognized by every jurisdiction
  • Blueprint: the current three-area blueprint from ASWB’s 2026 Examination Guidebook, for exams administered beginning August 3, 2026

One format note: ASWB’s current exams mix three-option and four-option questions. Every question in this bank is a four-option multiple-choice question, in the standard format used across PassProfessor programs.
